True Gamers to Open Esports Facility in Jordan
Esports facilities company True Gamers announced this week a partnership with RizeUp Sports Complex for a new esports arena in Amman, Jordan.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 1,000-square-meter facility will be located in the King Hussein Business Park in Amman, and will officially open its doors later this month. The King Hussein Business Park is home to a number of high-profile international businesses in the city including Deloitte Digital, Autodesk, Bayer, Samsung R&D Institute, Unilever, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, and many others.
While the collaboration in building this facility is between True Gamers and RizeUp Sports Complex, the company said that it consulted with the Jordanian Esports Federation and Jordan’s HRH Prince Omar Bin Feisal.
In a release, the company said that the goal of this collaboration is to “foster gaming culture in Jordan and create new opportunities for aspiring professional gamers and gaming enthusiasts.”
True Gamers is a Russia-based esports facilities company that has created a network of 124 esports clubs in Russia and the United Arab Emirates since its launch in 2019. The company claims that its turnover at these existing locations exceeded $20M USD in 2023, with a monthly client base of around 450K people.
In April, True Gamers announced plans to build the “world’s first esports island” in Abu Dhabi and that it was raising $280M in order to fund the project from investors. In January, True Gamers raised $45M in an investment round from Nawaf Albishri, CEO of investment firm Falak, specifically to grow the esports scene in Saudi Arabia by building more than 150 esports clubs in the region.
